Located across from the Jasper Methodist Church office and beside Revive Us Again furniture store on West Church Street, sits a cherished family home-converted beauty parlour; Salon 84: Hair & Color Studio.
Amy Leake, Owner of and Master Cosmetologist at 2016's Small Business of the Year states, "I have been doing what I love for over 23 years now, and my new location adds even more excitement to that! This was my grandparents old house and they too, owned a business downtown Jasper for many years. I hope I can try, in my own way, to carry on their passion to keep downtown thriving. I want you all to feel as welcome inside these 4 walls as I did growing up. What a blessing it is for me to share my dream with you."
When asked what makes them different from other salons, Amy replied, "We hope to provide each guest with a great salon experience along with a great cut or color. We differ ourselves from anyone else in the area by providing something for everyone within every beauty budget. We have a level system in place for our stylist based upon their level of experience as well as their demand on time (most requested stylist)."

I asked Amy what a couple of their favorite products were and she shared Aveda's Color Conserve Shampoo & Conditioner as well as Redken's Pillow Proof Dry Shampoo; both of which can be purchased in the Salon.
In addition to having a Salon in the heart of Jasper, Amy stays active in the community by holding a chair with the Jasper Downtown Alliance committee through the Chamber of Commerce. She informed us, "We hold staff meetings monthly at various restaurants in and around Jasper to show our support for local businesses."
